About Robot Price Map
Robot Price Map displays publicly listed prices of the same robot models in different countries: popular robot vacuums and humanoid and quadruped research robots.
How the data is collected
For each model and country, an automated tool looks at the manufacturer's official store for that country and up to a few major local retailers, copies the price shown on the page and keeps a link to the source. It only visits public pages and respects robots.txt. Observations are stored over time, so history builds up.
How to read the map
Each country is coloured by the median of the latest listed price per seller for the selected model, converted to USD at approximate exchange rates (differences of a few percent are not meaningful). Countries with fewer than 3 listings are shown faded: treat them as a weak indication. A country shown with a dashed outline means the model was not found on sale there on the sources checked; this is shown instead of leaving the country out.
Labels next to a price: promo / sale, refurbished, pre-order, bundle / variant, and the tax treatment of the listing.
VAT, sales tax and import differences
Prices are shown exactly as listed, in local currency, so they are not directly comparable on tax. In the EU, the UK, Japan, Korea, Australia, India, Israel and most other markets, listed consumer prices include VAT/GST (roughly 5% to 27%). In the United States and Canada, listed prices normally exclude sales tax, which is added at checkout and varies by state or province. Each listing is tagged tax included, tax excluded or tax unclear according to what the page says.
Other differences also move prices between countries and are not adjusted for: import duties and tariffs, local warranty and service, regional versions (for example plugs, voltage, language and app/cloud services), official distributors versus the manufacturer's store, and export controls or authorised-reseller requirements that apply to some robotics products. A model may exist in a country only through third-party sellers; such listings are tagged where the page says so.
